Intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR) is for infants whose growth is inferior to their genetic programming. For example, a child whose genetic programming would weigh 3,200 kg at birth and who will eventually weigh only 2,500 kg. This pathology concerns 10% of newborns. This is the number one killer of babies.
